There different and opposing arguments about the existence of youth culture. In this essay I will try to explain these theories and views and form an opinion from there off. The rise of youth culture was seen in 1960’s and 1970’s. Due to this rise in the youth culture, there were some theories developed on it.
Global Citizenship. .Thereby, everybody can become a Global Citizen despite age, gender, and region. To be a Global Citizen means to take actions and fulfil some duties in order to improve someone’s life. Global Citizenship should not be focused on scale of an action because helping people starts from little steps, from helping even one unknown person.
Active citizenship can be as small as a campaign to clean up your street or as big as educating young people about democratic values, skills and participation. Active citizenship is one of the most important steps towards healthy societies especially in new democracies like Hungary.
Citizenship education is a broad curriculum and is more than a subject. If it is taught well and developed according to local and national needs. It can develop the awareness of rights and responsibilities skills and values which can enhance democratic social life.
The essay will comment the two articles from the following four aspects: the first one is about material culture and consumerism shaping people’s contemporary way of life; the second one is on cultural and social representations’ reproduction; the third one mainly analyzes the production and construction of identities through consumer society and global cultural industry; the last one.
A good citizen is one who properly fulfills his or her role as a citizen. There are many opinions as to what constitutes a good citizen. Theodore Roosevelt said, “The first requisite of a good citizen in this Republic of ours is that he shall be able and willing to pull his weight.”.
